Episode 1: The Power of A Story

Have you ever looked at somebody and wondered how they've gotten to where they are today?

Now, I’m not talking about what vehicle they showed up in. I mean truly looking at somebody and being intrigued about their story. What made them into the person they are today? Who influenced them? And what roads did they travel to get them to where they are today?

For as long as I can remember I have always enjoyed people and taken an interest in their stories. From waiting tables, to promoting the sport of rodeo while serving as Miss Rodeo USA, to working in corporate America now as a sales rep - there is one common thread surrounding each of those unique experiences. The people I’ve met along the way - the good, the challenging & the cream of the crop - each & every one of them has a story. A story they were willing to share if someone would just pause long enough to listen.

Regardless of what task I have at hand, my favorite scripture Colossians 3:23, has continued to give me the courage and center me on what my mission is. “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord and not for men.” Sometimes that mission is simply listening to someone share their story. The relationships that have bloomed from those story sharing moments over the years with old & young alike have truly blessed my life.

During this episode, I'll share a little bit of my personal story, how this podcast came to be, my goals for what I hope it becomes and the power of storytelling.
